Some Facts About Polar Bear.

The beautiful polar bear are considered as marine mammals. Polar carnivorous bear whose native range lies largely within the Arctic ocean. It is the largest extant bear species, as well as the largest extant land carnivore.

A Polar Bear :

- Weight up to 450 Kg male & 250 kg female.

- Height up t0 1.8 m male & 2.5 m female.

- Has a maximum speed of 40 km/hr.

- Polar bears are considered as marine mammals.

- Polar bears are good Swimmers can Swim up to 100 km off shore.

- The great white bear of the North is not actually white. Each hairs are transparent so that light pass through.

- Polar bear paws are expertly designed for traversing the slick and shifting sea-scape.

- Touches each other nose to ask for sharing food.

- Unlike other large carnivores, polar bears do not have territories; they have home ranges. And only pregnant females hibernate.

- Don’t prefer sea ice to land, they NEED sea ice to survive.

- Exist only in the North Pole.

- Are big fans of the natural snow bath.

- Has a life span of 25 to 30 years.

- Global Warming and climate change are big danger to them.
