Bhubneswar, March 8: A huge fire had broken out in Odisha's Similipal Tiger Reserve last month. The fire has largely been contained without any loss of life. Its been for last 10 days Similipal is burning.
Similipal is one of the oldest Tiger Reserves in the country and home for Royal Bengal Tiger, and many reptiles and birds.
Some how fire comes down within last two days, Odisha government has now constituted a task force to review forest fires in the state and suggest containment measures, IANS reported. The task force will suggest measures to further strengthen the mechanism for fire containment in forests. The nine-member task force will be headed by former principal chief conservator of forest (PCCF) Sandeep Tripathi.
