May 24, Doha: Indian Football team reached Doha on Wednesday evening and had there first training session on Friday evening after completing all necessary COVID protocol and all team members tested negative.
India is placed in Group E 4th place with 3 points along with Quatar leading the points table, followed by Oman, followed by Afghanistan with 4 points and Bangladesh in bottom with 1 point. All the team will play there third round and this round is for the parallel AFC Asian Cup 2023, China and FIFA World Cup 2022, Quatar qualification.
On the first match India to take on host Quatar on 3rd June, Bangladesh on 7th June and Afghanistan on 15th June.
The Indian team is boosted by the return of skipper Sunil Chetri back to the team.
The National Camp was scheduled at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata from 2nd May onwards but due to the second wave of Chinese Covid the camp was cancelled and team went to Doha early for training.
June 3 : India vs Qatar, (IST 10:30pm.)
June 7 : India vs Bangladesh, ( IST 7:30pm)
June 15 : India vs Afghanistan ( IST 7:30pm)
